STDs
Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs), or Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), are infections that are passed on from an infected partner during unprotected sex.
Most are curable with medication. Some, if left untreated, can lead to serious health problems such as infertility or even cervical cancer.
Common STDs include Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea, Genital Warts and Syphilis
Adolescents are especially at risk from STDs. Your immune system may not yet be developed enough to protect you from certain infections.
It is your responsibilty to consider your sexual health and wellbeing before having unprotected sex.
